Welcome to Carrie's Outreach Aspirations Program

We believe in the power of hope, support, and community in the journey towards recovery from addiction.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to empower individuals in their journey of recovery from the harmful effects of active addiction and to assist in ongoing freedom from addiction. To do this, we provide three services: the Aspirations Day Program, Carrie’s Outreach and Family Support.

We are a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO).

Our Services

Holding Hands Up High

1

Aspirations Day Program

This is a structured, non-residential, non-religious program led by trauma-informed, trained counsellors and group facilitators. The program runs for at least 12 weeks and can be longer if needed. The program includes process groups, individual therapy and session with a key worker.

2

Carrie's Outreach

Carrie's Outreach is a support service specifically for women who sell sex. For many women, selling sex is a way to fund active addiction and substances are a way to block out the reality of selling sex. Carrie’s Outreach works with other local organisations to provide routes out of selling sex.

3

Family Support

When someone suffers in addiction, their family and friends suffer too. The Family Support service is a group for those who wish to learn more about addiction so they can support someone close to them.

Change Lives

The Aspirations Day Program, Carrie's Outreach and Family Support are funded by donations, fundraising activities and grants.

We are proud and excited to announce that Aspirations Day Program has been awarded £734,584 in National Lottery funding to transform support for vulnerable women in Southend.

This significant investment will launch a major "Systems Strengthening" project designed to revolutionise the support infrastructure for vulnerable women across Southend. For years, Aspirations has provided a vital lifeline for women facing complex challenges, including homelessness, domestic abuse, and street-based prostitution. This new funding, made possible by the National Lottery, will allow the charity to move beyond emergency response into a new era of sustainable, high-impact service delivery.

The five-year grant will be utilised to "future-proof" the organisation through a dual focus on operational excellence and frontline expansion. Key pillars of the project include:

  • System Infrastructure: A complete overhaul of internal operations to ensure the charity can meet the rising demand for its services.

  • Extended Outreach: Scaling up the charity's existing outreach efforts to reach women who are currently isolated from support networks.

  • Research & Development: Establishing a dedicated R&D team looking at women in prison and how Aspirations can meet those needs and adapt our services in real-time.

To drive this transformation, Aspirations Day Program is immediately opening recruitment for three pivotal new positions to join their Southend-based team:

  • Operations Manager: To lead strategic implementation and service delivery.

  • Finance Assistant: To support the robust management of the new funding and long-term financial health.

  • HR & Admin Assistant: To support the growing workforce and ensure administrative excellence.

This funding will be a game-changer. It allows us to stop simply reacting to crises and start building a system that catches women before they fall. By investing in an Operations Manager, a Finance Assistant, and a dedicated HR function, we are ensuring that every penny of this money goes toward creating a safer, more supportive future for our community

we are lottery funded!
